Rebar
Reinforcing steel grades A500C, A1, A3, B500. Diameter 6—40 mm. Lengths 11.7 and 12 m. The main blank for reinforced-concrete work.
Rebar (reinforcing steel) — round-section bars with ribbed or smooth profile, used to reinforce reinforced-concrete structures. They take the tensile loads that concrete itself cannot carry.
E-Metall has 90 active SKU. We always stock fast-mover sizes Ø 12, 14, 16, 20, 25 mm grade A500C — same-day shipment. For large volumes — direct factory shipment within 7—14 days.
Classification & types
A500C (hot-rolled, weldable)
The most common grade on the market. Yield σy ≥ 500 MPa, ultimate σu ≥ 600 MPa. Used as the working reinforcement of load-bearing structures: foundations, columns, beams, slabs. Weldable without loss of strength by resistance and arc welding. GOST 34028-2016.
A1 (A240, smooth)
Smooth profile, σy ≥ 240 MPa. Used as distribution reinforcement, stirrups, mounting ties. The smooth surface gives less bond with concrete — so it is not used as working reinforcement in load-bearing nodes. GOST 5781-82.
A3 (A400, ribbed)
Gradually being replaced by A500C. Used in legacy projects and refurbishment. GOST 5781-82.
B500 (cold-deformed)
Made by cold-drawing, supplied in 1000 m coils, diameter 5—12 mm. Used in reinforcing meshes, light screed reinforcement, masonry. GOST 52544-2006.

Selection guide
- Working reinforcement for load-bearing structures (foundations, columns, transom beams, beams) — A500C is mandatory. Tenders usually require this grade specifically.
- Stirrups, mounting ties, distribution reinforcement — A1 (smooth); smaller-diameter A500C is acceptable.
- Mesh for screeds and masonry — B500 in coils or pre-fabricated masonry mesh.
- Seismic zones (Almaty, Taldykorgan) — A500C with confirmed impact toughness at −40°C.
- State tenders — specify “A500C per GOST 34028-2016” explicitly and attach the current factory quality passport.
Shipping documents
- Factory quality passport with heat number, chemistry and mechanical properties
- EAEU conformity certificate on request
- CT-1 / CT-KZ for state procurement in Kazakhstan (see Tenders)
- E-invoice, waybill, SNT on the day of shipment
- More details on the Documents page
Storage, acceptance, transport
- Store in a dry place, on supports, avoiding direct contact with the ground and water
- Light surface rust is allowed and is not grounds for refusal of the batch (GOST permits this)
- Before pouring concrete, clean rebar of loose rust and oil with a wire brush or sand-blasting
- Transport in 1—5 t bundles, wired strapping
- Cutting to size — at our facility, see metal cutting
FAQ
Q. What is the difference between sized and non-sized rebar?
Sized — exact length 11.7 or 12 m, 5—8% more expensive. Non-sized — random length within the tolerance (5.5—12 m), cheaper but generates more cutting waste. For concrete works, sized is preferred.
Q. Can A500C be replaced with A3 in a project?
Only with the designer\u2019s written approval. The grades have different weldability and ductility. On tender sites, unauthorised substitution leads to rejection at acceptance.
Q. How much rebar per 1 m³ of concrete?
It depends on the structure: foundations — 80—120 kg/m³, floor slabs — 100—150, columns — 200—300. Exact figures — by the structural drawings.
Q. Do you fabricate ready rebar cages?
Yes, but not in series. Per project — we calculate, bend and weld to client drawings. Confirm with a manager via the feedback form.
