Sheet & plate

Hot-rolled, cold-rolled, galvanized sheet. Plate 6—60 mm. Cut to size from client drawing — band, plasma, oxy-fuel.

Sheet metal is the second-largest category — 408 active SKU. From thin cold-rolled 0.5 mm to structural plate 60 mm. A universal blank for steel structures, roofing, façades, equipment, vehicle bodies and panelling.

Classification & types

Hot-rolled (HR) sheet

Produced by rolling above the recrystallisation temperature. Thickness 1.5—12 mm for sheet, 14—60 mm for plate. Surface with mill scale. Used in steel structures, vehicle bodies, panelling. GOST 19903-2015. Steels St3, 09G2S.

Cold-rolled (CR) sheet

Made by cold-rolling HR sheet. Thickness 0.5—3 mm. Smooth surface, accurate dimensions. Used in vehicle bodies, furniture, equipment, thin-wall panelling. GOST 19904-90. Steel 08ps.

Galvanized sheet

CR sheet with hot-dip or electrolytic galvanizing. Thickness 0.5—2.5 mm. Corrosion-protected. Used in roofing, façades, ducting, fencing. GOST 14918-80.

Chequered plate (lentil, diamond)

HR sheet with one-side relief for slip resistance. Thickness 3—8 mm. Used in stair treads, walkways, service platforms, factory floors. GOST 8568-77.

Plate

Heavy HR plate from 14 to 60 mm. Used in foundation bases, sheaves, hydraulic equipment, critical heavy-load steel structures.

Selection guide

  • Load-bearing steel structures, panelling, gas holders — HR sheet St3, thickness by calculation
  • Vehicle bodies, equipment housings, furniture — CR sheet 1—3 mm, smooth surface
  • Roofing, façades, ducting — galvanized sheet 0.5—1 mm
  • Stair treads, service platforms, walkways — chequered “lentil” 4—5 mm
  • Hydraulic equipment, foundation plates, sheaves — plate 20—60 mm, steel 09G2S (for cold)
  • Cold-resistant structures — 09G2S with confirmed impact toughness at −40°C is mandatory

Shipping documents

Factory certificate stating the steel grade, heat number, chemistry and mechanical properties. For plate — Brinell hardness and impact toughness are mandatory. For galvanized sheet — coating mass in g/m². E-invoice, waybill, SNT.

Storage, acceptance, transport

  • Store in a covered warehouse, in stacks on supports 100—150 mm above the floor
  • CR and galvanized — under a roof, to prevent stains and corrosion
  • Wooden spacers between sheets in a stack to prevent dents and scratches
  • Before welding — degrease and clean the seam zone
  • Cutting to drawing — band / plasma / oxy-fuel, tolerance ±1 mm

FAQ

Q. How does “hot-rolled pickled” sheet differ from regular HR?

Pickled — after rolling, the mill scale has been chemically removed; the surface is bright. It costs 8—15% more. Used where a smooth surface is required immediately (for painting, lamination).

Q. Can galvanized sheet be cut with plasma?

Yes, but the zinc coating burns off 5—10 mm in the cut area. If continuity of the protective coating matters — better cut with a band saw or guillotine.

Q. What does “mill edge” vs “trimmed edge plus” mean?

Trimmed (T) — straight edges, accurate dimensions. Mill (M) — edge as rolled, uneven, 3—5% cheaper. T is needed for precise welding; M is enough for marking and machine cutting.

Q. Do you cut to a DXF drawing?

Yes. We accept DXF, DWG, PDF and sketches. Minimum batch — 100 kg. Lead time — from 24 hours. Details on the Metal cutting page.
