Selection guide
- Lightning-protection grounding loops — strip 4×40 or 5×50, must be galvanized
- Splice plates, ties, brackets in steel structures — thickness 5—10 mm by calculation
- Bearing plates, washers under anchors — strip 10—20 mm
- Reinforcement and gussets in trusses — thickness 8—12 mm
Shipping documents
Factory certificate with grade and mechanical properties. For grounding — confirmation of galvanizing (hot-dip, coating thickness at least 80 μm) is mandatory.
Storage, acceptance, transport
Narrow strip in bundles, wide strip stored separately. Keep under a canopy.
FAQ
Q. Can plain (black) strip be used for grounding?
Possible, but service life in soil is only 5—7 years. Galvanized 4×40 strip in soil lasts 25—40 years. For permanent grounding loops, galvanizing is mandatory.
